David Oliver has become known around the world as the creative director of Paint & Paper Library, finding commercial success with his practical range of Architectural Colours; a complementary colour-by-number system for ceiling, cornice, wall and woodwork, using chromatic colours of a similar tonal weight.

His easy to co-ordinate Architectural Colours have helped thousands of interior designers, decorators, architects, inspired amateurs, and passionate home owners, create a harmonious balance of colour and light on various interior elements of a room.

In 2007, he authored “Paint & Paper – A Masterclass in Colour & Light”, published by Conran Octopus UK and Rizzoli USA. This was shortlisted for the 2008 RIBA International Book Awards, winning a Special Commendation.

David has a background in Fine Art and studied at the National Art School in Sydney. He has exhibited in Dublin, Madrid, New York, Sydney, Stockholm and London. He is also well known for his fabric and wallpaper designs, notably ‘Liberation’ which was devised from the French newspaper of the same name, and which toured internationally with the British Craft Council, and selected as one of GQ Magazine’s ‘Best 100 Things in the World’.

Paint & Paper Library colours are available throughout the UK, and under license in Ireland, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Italy, Russia and the United States.

David is currently working on a new television series in the United States, and has recently appeared on Channel Four Television in the UK.
